Hi and welcome! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm Gina aka foosel. I'm a full-time nerd, full-time open source maintainer and creator of OctoPrint ("the snappy web interface for your 3d printer"), and in my free time I also happen to game (video games and boardgames), bake bread (since before the pandemic even!), go bouldering or work on way too many side projects.

@PennyOaken
I don't see how that's true. They can flood you anyway without numbers too. And it would be relevant info for selecting where to migrate. I want good mod to masses ratio.
@rmbles @Gargron
@Gargron How many mods are there here?
@davidfowl Here you go.

First post! I work on the .NET team at Microsoft helping to shape the product w/ a primary focus on ASP.NET & related tech. Been in tech almost 30 years now & the web since HotDog.

Married w/ 2 teens & 3 cats, all of whom I love stupendously. Australian by birth, UK & US by privilege/choice.

Interests inc. good whisky, coffee, watches, music (I'm 6 months into learning piano!), home AV/tech, building PCs, Formula 1, & Seahawks football. If I could be anywhere right now it'd probably be Hawaii.

I really canโ€™t believe how far #3dprinting has come since I started with my first #reprap. Iโ€™m printing this #DarkSaber and the QUALITY coming out of a $700 #Prusa is bananas. And the fact that I BUILT IT MYSELF FROM A KIT is mind blowing. And using #OctoPrint by @foosel and OctoEverywhere to monitor remotely? Itโ€™s Star Trek levels of awesome. #Irony

I'm just learning about the #fediverse.

Once there is a firewall in place excluding the fossil fuel industry and corporate sponsorship, and once there is some mechanism for ignoring fossil fuel industry states (Saudi Arabia) then we can expect success. And we SHOULD be expecting MUCH more from the COP process.
The reasons I expected it to be a failure:
1. They once again let in the fossil fuel industry in a massive way.
2. COP26 was not widely recognized as the failure it was.
3. There were no significant changes from COP26. Maybe due to #2. Lessons were not learned. (See #1).
