Yesterday night, sleeping with an open window, I would wake up from the cries of a young tawny owl. Not unusual for this time of year and they can be pretty noisy.

On a whim, I grabbed a thermal camera to see if I could spot it. The little bugger sat on a branch right in front of my window.

Watched me for a while, and when it took off and passed right in front of me, I could still not hear a sound. So impressive animals!
