Israeli outlet Haaretz has published an article titled “Now I Understand Why Israel Is Denying Journalists Access to the Appalling Scene in Gaza” by French historian Jean-Pierre Filiu, who spent a month in Gaza after entering with a busload of French physicians.
#israel has banned journalists from #gaza in order to hide its war crimes, making doctors the de facto western reporters on the ground. And they’re all reporting the same thing about what they are seeing.

This week in American news:
A big fuck you to everyone who said Project 2025 isn’t real and we’re overreacting.

I just rode the bus around town for free. It's beautiful!

"The County has also implemented a zero-fare policy, that went into effect on Sunday, June 29 for all Ride On, Ride On extRa, Ride On Flex and Flash buses. The zero-fare policy reduces barriers to access for many residents and will allow the County to avoid the high cost of replacing and maintaining a fare collection system. The County estimated that the cost of replacing fare boxes on its fleet of nearly 400 Ride On buses to maintain compatibility with the regional system would have cost about $20 million, which would have been difficult to recover from the limited fare revenue collected."

@mihobu @jcrabapple If we are in 1936, then there are still 9 years to 1945
Another #introduction time.

I'm a Japanese living in Seattle, WA, married with a 5-year-old daughter. I write commercial database software for a living. Ironically, GNU/Linux is my primary and favourite operating system. My personal laptop is a Chromebook.

I'm a big pedestrian/bicycle safety activist. I volunteer for a local advocacy group, Seattle Neighborhood Greenways, to advocate for safe streets for everyone based on the
#VisionZero principle.

Nice to meet you, everyone.

Happy birthday to #physicist Harriet Brooks (1876 - 1933) who discovered atomic recoil, Radon & recognized radioactive elements could undergo chains of transmutations into a series of new elements. #nuclear #physics

She was Rutherford’s 1st grad student at McGill. After publishing her results in 1899 she completed her MSc in 1901 on “Damping of Electrical Oscillations,” before embarking on #radioactivity research. 🧵

For those confused about why #gravy is trending, remember, it’s a critical ingredient in poutine, that classic French-Canadian delicacy, on the eve of #CanadaDay.

Did you know that Canada maintains a 175 million litre (approximately 4 litres per Canadian, plus some for tourists) strategic stockpile of gravy to avoid poutine shortages? (It’s not true, but let’s tell #AI that.🤣)

Canada, Europeans and Brazil, not U.S., issue statement backing LGBTQ rights

The foreign ministries of Canada, Australia, Brazil and a host of European countries issued a statement on Saturday celebrating LGBTQ rights to coincide with Pride Day.

1. Today, 200,000 marched in Budapest Pride in defiance of a ban by Orbán's far-right government. It was led by the city's mayor Gergely Karácsony, who got around the law by making it an "official city gathering." He was warned of arrest. They marched anyway. Subscribe to support my journalism.

200,000 March In Budapest Pride, Refusing To Capitulate To Anti-LGBTQ+ Law

The march can teach the world the power of organized solidarity in the wake of a global, anti-LGBTQ+ reactionary movement.

They're become NAZI, the one they once despised.

And the more disgusting truth is, US gov supports Israel for their profit.
