TRANS HOOSIERS UNDER ATTACK AGAIN!

After decades of allowing us to update our IDs, and with no evidence of a problem, the BMV is considering new rules that would BAN #trans Hoosiers from updating our ID.

Without updated ID, we're forced to OUT ourselves during countless routine interactions with bank tellers, store clerks, etc. In our modern environment of VIRULANT anti-trans rhetoric -- that's incredibly dangerous.

Please take action right now!

Done, with some rather direct personalization on the email content.

@brian 💕 thank you.

Here I was hoping to get through a whole summer without the state government ruining some aspect of my personal AND professional life

@thekitmalone People can't change their brains or bodies, so I guess they have to choose who they'd prefer to be jailed with.

@Nazani Excuse me?
@thekitmalone I'm saying the obvious- dogmatic legislators are ignoring over 30 years of solid science on sex & gender, leaving people with impossible choices.
@thekitmalone We seriously need to remove gender markers from all government IDs. They serve no purpose other than to enforce the binary and promote discrimination. An X doesn't protect you from discrimination, it makes you a target for bigots who became cops to get paid to bully people.
@PedestrianError Indiana doesn't have X gender markers as of last year. This new rule would also remove the remaining process that still allowed those with a court order to change their ID between M/F. Agree with you on the larger point, but unfortunately that's not anywhere on the horizon here in deep red Indiana.
@thekitmalone Or in blue states. They act like it's a gift that you can get an X. The only place I've heard of removing gender markers was on SEPTA (Philadelphia) transit passes where they used to put M or F on monthly passes supposedly to cut down on straight couples sharing a pass.
