Take an example from the Netherlands:

Guns / weapons are forbidden here, with very good reasons, we have about 2 bikes per Dutch

So if something happens, we just bike away! 🚲

But yeah, start with removing weapons from the streets, we’ll talk again after that

Hot girls hate ICE.

EenVandaag

There is war in Europe. People are dying. And Donald Trump wastes European leaders‘ time showing them his collection of China made MAGA hats.

The things intelligent people have to endure, because some US voters elected a fool…

Future generations will not believe their own history books.

I'll stop after this. But I need to get this out of my system. We in western Europe have enjoyed 3 generations of peace after the 2nd world war. We now learn that that didn't happen because we are shiny, happy people. It happened because of diplomacy. Of working in the background to keep the Cold War cold. That balance of power is now over. And we can replace it with more peace or with more war. I guess you understand what I prefer. Is all. Now go and attack me for being naive :)
“Soup of the Day” implies another, possibly more seductive, Soup of the Night.

A reminder on the real #luxuries in life 🙌💞

@PhoenixSerenity I love these! ❤️❤️🥰
@SeaFury These all spark joyful feels 🥰
@PhoenixSerenity
Good morning Que.
May you have at least a few of these today. ☺️
@WrenArcher Good morning, Wren. I'm sure to relish in more than one of those today 😀 I hope you can too!

@PhoenixSerenity

"Any amount of health amplified or preserved, no matter how small" is something I'd add to this excellent list.

@PhoenixSerenity @aktbar All good arguments for retirement.
@johnniesan @aktbar Or how to soft resist the capitalist hamster wheel of productivity at all other costs.
@PhoenixSerenity Great list! Right now I have slow mornings, listening to birds, home-cooked meal and day naps 💖
@allanon 👏Joyful contentment 🙂
@PhoenixSerenity I would also add "Good Company", but I know not everyone likes being around other people.
@dnkboston Good company doesn't always have to be human/people. Sometimes, good company is a great book or a fab film or time with cats/dogs/other domestic animals or with plants/trees or wildlife or with the natural elements 🙂
@PhoenixSerenity I enjoy nature, but I definitely need people, or I start to question reality. (I just might be an extrovert!)
@dnkboston I have to connect with other humans too. I'm just very particular on who.
@PhoenixSerenity @dnkboston This. I'm an introvert, but that doesn't mean I'm a hermit. I need a handful of people I'm close to in my life.
@hosford42 I'm willing to give a lot of people a chance! And pretty generously. But then I get easily burned, and I'm a little afraid of people for a second after that. @PhoenixSerenity

@dnkboston Can confirm, a (in my case) partner to spend the day with tends to be of way more value than the rest of that list. :')

@PhoenixSerenity

@finlaydag33k @dnkboston Usually, when you have a good, compatible partner - you end up doing all these things with them.

@PhoenixSerenity Depends.
We (ex-partner and me) never really listened to the birds singing colourful sunsets or books.
What we did have tho was music blasting, Anime and MTG.

@dnkboston

@PhoenixSerenity wow, I don't do 12 of 12 of those activities...
@PhoenixSerenity I'm retired & have the good fortune of enjoying them all with regularity. 🤗
@PhoenixSerenity I want to add: Hanging out in the backyard with the neighbors.
@PhoenixSerenity
Allow me to add "clean water" and a "hot shower" 🖖🏻
@PhoenixSerenity ability to freely express yourself = setting everything ablaze
@PhoenixSerenity currently raising little children, so most if not all the list will be off limits for a while.
@Nux Luckily, there's a few things on this that you can enjoy doing with young kids. My nephew's Mom is a nature teacher for preschoolers. She also helps busy parents learn how to give themselves these kind of simple but very soul rewarding luxuries too. Being a parent is a hard job upon itself 💞
@PhoenixSerenity Having a slow morning with the companionship of Hezekiah the Cockatiel, who is sitting on my chest, getting head scritchies and making happy sounds.🦜
@c_merriweather That sounds very therapeutic.

@PhoenixSerenity In these cases, I always find our political and social involvement lacking. I would add:

- Being able to integrate into a cooperative community.

- Being able to contribute to the decisions and processes of that community.

@HorcaDobleMango For me these luxuries are part of my essential self care toolbox. I can't contribute well to myself, my family, my community & world at large - if I continually burn myself out & don't make time to invest in these non-capitalist luxuries. These are the luxuries that help me to stay focused on meaningful work, to rejuvenate my spirit, to connect more offline & remember what I'm fighting for.
@PhoenixSerenity Of course, normal. Don't take it personally. We all need moments like you say, and they're important. I just wanted to say that in our time, it's only self-care that's identified with luxury, with freedom. If everyone helps themselves, who helps others? Un saludo desde España
@HorcaDobleMango If we don't take care of ourselves, we aren't able to help others as well & it can harm communities too. A lot of newbie activists have had to learn that lesson. We need rest to be able to contribute better.

@PhoenixSerenity See, I have lots of all of those things. I don't have a lot of things other people think of as necessities, but I think I come out well from the deal.

I'd add 'good friends'.

@PhoenixSerenity 👍🏻👍🏻 👏🏻

@besnehard

@besnehard

@besnehard

@besnehard

@besnehard

@PhoenixSerenity
Senior citizen stamp of approval.
@PhoenixSerenity This can be reduced to single luxury: "free time".
@koteisaev My former workaholic past life used to believe that. I've changed my mindset over the decades. I now make the time for these luxuries. I only have one guaranteed life.
@PhoenixSerenity Yes, I understand it. I just noticed what is common with these pleasures. All of them need extra time, free time you can use as you prefer.
Some people have to work a lot because their salary too low.
Other work too much because got trapped into some "Status" requirements and it bloated the unnecessary expenses.
Take long walks. It require a few hours of free time (or at least 1-2), to get there and return back.
It does not require an expensive equipment. _Just_ free time.
