Little update: It's been running in the cluster hosting my Discord bot and 3 CouchDB instances for the past week or two with no problems (outside NUC-03 going offline for an evening because the network cable got dislodged - it misses the little plastic tab).

Am considering to buy some more RAM (4GB is really tight).

All in all, the experiment succeeded.

OMFG.
I JUST REALISED A FOOD TRUCK IS REVERSE DRIVE THRU.

I really don't understand (yes, I know, it's all because of marketing) why all "adult toothpaste" must taste like very strong mint.
I personally hate them to the point I often skipped brushing (with all problems that follow) because I can't stand having a mouth-numbing mintyness right after I wake up or just before I go to bed.

So I decided to instead try "children's toothpaste" now, which doesn't taste minty (but more like a "bubble gum").
Why can't we have "adult toothpaste" that "tastes good" so it's more like a "treat" rather than a "burden"?

I wonder how much people suffer from similar problems (skipping on brushing and everything that comes with it), just because they hate the overly-minty "adult toothpaste"...

For those wondering, the sodium fluoride content is the same between this one and my old "adult toothpaste" (both 1450ppm).
The main differences are the "replacement" of potassium nitrate (which helps against sensitive teeth) for xylitol (which helps against bacteria that convert sugar into lactic acid - which causes cavities).
So it's a completely safe drop-in replacement.

And yes, I know I could just get the "children's toothpaste" and nobody is really gonna bat an eye but potassium nitrate is generally more benefitial for adults (whom tend to have sensitive teeth more often due to the gums receding over time).

>Parents: "You need to put your dishes in the dishwasher more often!"
>Me: *puts stuff in the dishwasher more often*
>Parents: *throw stuff away without asking because they do not recognize what it belongs to*

Total tally of stuff they threw out without asking or informing me in the past year or 2:
- Cap for one of my shakers (shaker is now unuseable as a shaker).
- Little insert for another one of my shakers.
- Little inserts for my lunchbox.
- The lunchbox itself.
- My rice bowl (probably dropped it and forgot to inform me?)
- 3 plastic bowls I used for making noodles ("we thought you didn't use them anymore so we threw them out").

Gee... I wonder why I don't put stuff in the dishwasher that often... Could it maybe be because it risks me losing my stuff?
And if I don't put stuff in the dishwasher myself, they will just barge onto my rooms and grab it themselves (which also means I risk losing my stuff).

I sure love living with other people that just mindlessly throw away everything they do not recognize themselves...

pov: you're hosting a linux mirror on forgejo and you forgot to set a cpu resource limit

Classic YT deleting a video for a policy update made 14 years after upload.

At least I got to rewatch a classic thanks to uploader not being a clairvoyant capable of reading rules that didn't exist for another 14 years.

Little Docker Swarm cluster on some old NUCs.
Now I can at least reboot my main server without my Discord bot going down. :')

>Articles: "large majority of <insert group I belong to> agrees that <thing that will affect group I belong to> survey finds"

Funny how I never get invited for those surveys and am never able to find anyone that did and nobody I know in said group would agree...
Almost as if they (pick your poison):
- Make up numbers to sell their own agenda (no survey to begin with).
- Sample an insignificant selection.
- Sample a selection they know will give them the results they want.
- Always sample the same selection.

This meme from 2023, sure aged like fine wine.

Translation:
"Your driver license becomes digital starting 2030, just like that of all EU-citizens

EU-countries are going to work with a digital driver's license starting 2030. That is the result of the negotiations between the European Parliament and the EU-member states. The digital driver's license shall be valid for 10 years in The Netherlands and will be accessible via an app."

I work as a truck driver...
So imagine I drop my phone out of my pocket while loading the truck.
No phone, no app, no driver's license, can't continue work.
This is totally not gonna cause issues.
