This is going about on the birdside from the (apparently) leaked Balatro source code, and people are shitting all over it. Some straight up saying don't write code like this, learn to do it right before daring make a game..
I disagree!
Sure, it wouldn't pass a code review. But it looks like someone who had an idea and used what knowledge and tools they had to build it, working things out as they went..
And the product holds up, so what's it matter?

Today in unnecessary consumption: The Backbone One for my iPhone 13 Mini.
Always looked at these but could never justify the RRP. Now with Lightning no longer in newer iPhones, I found an online retailer selling them off at a 60% discount, then got a big box retailer to price match.
Now I might get some personal value off that Netflix subscription with their pretty decent game library on iOS. Hades is due to be released on the 20th as well.
Can somebody recommend a simulation game in the tradition of Hanse, Fugger, Vermeer, ... from the good old days of the C64, but for PS5 (Switch would be fine too)? I'm not looking for a "cosy" farm game with lots of manual work, but for a real economy and production chain management. Should be less complex than Anno 1800 or Facturio, rather like Settlers 3.
Could not find anything for consoles that made a decent impression. #gaming #simulation #economy
