πŸ‘‰Putin heads to Budapest via the Druzhba oil pipeline

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ίβ—οΈ7 of the EU's 27 member countries increased the value of their imports from Russia versus a year earlier, - Reuters

France, for example, saw purchases of Russian energy rise 40% to 2.2 billion euros while the Netherlands jumped 72% to 498 million euros, the analysis shows.

France and the Netherlands are joined by four other countries whose governments support Ukraine in the war: Belgium, which saw a 3% increase, Croatia (55%), Romania (57%) and Portugal (167%).

#Ukraine pays a high price for freedom - our people sacrifice their lives.

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΊπŸš«πŸ‡πŸ‡Ί The European Commission rejected Hungary's request to release €550 million, - Politico.

Brussels will only allocate €163.5 million in advance payments, as discontent with OrbΓ‘n grows. Even this money could be returned to the EC if it is deemed misused.

At the informal summit in Copenhagen, leaders are discussing a shift from unanimous voting to qualified majority decision-making to override OrbΓ‘n's veto.

In my lifetime, China has not dared to attack Taiwan.

But in 2022 Putin invaded Ukraine β€” a war for which the EU countries have reserved a considerable part of their budgets and attention.

Then voters of the US elected an incompetent president who has zero understanding of military strategy; and he now wants to attack Venezuela with the risk of getting the US bogged down in a wider South American war.

If that happens, I fear China moves on Taiwan, knowing they will never get a better chance.

Update. "#Austria's military has switched from #MicrosoftOffice to #LibreOffice. The move was all about digital sovereignty, not cost savings. Other governments are moving away from Microsoft to protect their citizens' privacy."

This European military just ditched Microsoft for open-source LibreOffice - here's why

It's not about the cost savings, either. Many government organizations are replacing Microsoft software for a more important reason.

Also, a threat is possible from 3 missile carriers located at the Novorossiysk base. The Russians have already launched the Shaheds.

There is something beautiful about reading Trump characterize Jimmy Kimmel as an untallented fool with no audience, while Jimmy Kimmel is now at 16,456,944 views on YouTube alone β€” just 20 hours after publishing β€” while Trump's UN speech is at 169,000 views after two days.

Jealousy is an incurable disease.

@nixCraft I love it (the website is fun to read too!)
@nixCraft Excellent and sooo true "malheuresement !"
@nixCraft I'm gonna print this and put it in my fridge to scare the shit out of my home mate
@nixCraft Internyet if they're honest

@nixCraft

"We value your privacy -- at around $3.75"

@nixCraft Only 847? The really good sites have 1000+ or even 1500+ partners.
@nixCraft I find myself using TOR a lot and it works just fine most of the time.
@N0tSure @nixCraft Unfortunately, using Tor only hides your network location, and maybe does things like not leak as much information about your web browser. Any information you give the website yourself, like entering data, keyboard and mouse habits, etc, is not protected at all.
@nixCraft I suppose it's fair to add, whatever I click in response to your request, I'm running uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger and I won't let you track me anyway. And I'll also never see anything your advertising partners try to fling at me. So why bother asking and wasting both our time?

@nixCraft If only all real sites admitted to GDPR infringements in writing up front so that it was easy to tell on them to the regulators.

Really someone(s) should write a crawler to find sites that track you when you do not consent to them doing so and publish the results to shame them.

I think at least Meta and Alphabet already have huge EU fines pending due to them ignoring non-consent or acceptable use of data, it is illegal to just collect data in case it gets useful.

@gazorg @nixCraft Totally. The whole planet now hides behind bogus legal clickwalls, and there's zero accountability beyond "do you have your clickwall up? Yea? Ok your customers are notified."
@nixCraft honest cookie banner
@nixCraft This page just made my fucking day!! I can't stop laughing XD (And crying internally)

@nixCraft you know you can simply copy the cookie banner's text into the #altText4you ?
"We Value Your Privacy (Not Really)

This website uses cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, WebSQL, browser fingerprinting, canvas fingerprinting, and probably your mom's maiden name to track literally everything you do. We share this data with 847 trusted partners including but not limited to: advertisers, data brokers, that sketchy startup in the Caymans, and anyone willing to pay $0.003 per record.

By clicking "Accept All" you agree to let us sell your data. By clicking "Reject All" you agree to let us sell your data anyway. By clicking "Customize" you get to pretend you have a choice while we still sell your data."

@nixCraft
I absolutely love this. And it's all true.

@nixCraft

I just appreciate the transparency.

@nixCraft πŸ˜† Yes, that's right.
@nixCraft Strangely, I trust them!
@nixCraft I can't seem to get the 847 cookies being set. Does Claude possibly dump them as "little text files(tm)"? πŸ˜‰
@nixCraft I agree with you on what these sites say ACCEPT COOKIES or no. Plus stating that WE SELL OUR SOULS, basically giving our PRIVACY AWAY FREELY, not thinking WHY WE FREELY ACCEPT to these "COOKIES", is it worth it?
@nixCraft omg the "Someone asked" link probably doxxing the person who asked is just πŸ‘Œ
@nixCraft the data privacy agencies mill very slowly

@nixCraft "Architecture? Tests? Documentation? Nah bro, we just vibe with it. The AI knows best, probably."

haha

@nixCraft I never even feel safe clicking "reject all", but I don't know what to do other than ignore that pop up entirely (which I usually do)
@nixCraft i'm 50/50 spit on whether this website is actually LLM generated or not, becuase no LLM could be this funny

@nixCraft

Yeah. That's what I figured. 😞

@nixCraft with a #Klangphonics concert stock photo. Nice! (Steal everything, but claim "AI made me do it".)
