Four years after donning the #nonBinary label, I'm ready to de-emphasize it. I'm now fine with being perceived as a #greygender man.

Two years into unmasking my Autism and recovering from burnout, I learned that:

• I can reject the patriarchal gender expectations without denying my AGAB
• a lot of what I identified as gender dysphoria was body dysmorphia + sensory overwhelm. My body is not my enemy anymore. My painted nails and sidecut still bring me euphoria, but so do my hairy muscly pecs. I'll occasionally wear skirts this summer, but with hairy legs and a masculine shirt.

I'll keep a "chaotic masc" gender-non-conforming presentation and they/them pronouns, but I'm not feeling bad anymore when wearing blue or when I'm called "sir".

It's okay to change your mind about the specifics of your nonbinary identity.

There are so many microlabels, pronoun possibilities, and ways to present yourself that you'll probably to through a few varieties over the course of your life.

You're just as much a nonbinary person regardless.
