I’m absolutely in love with Hidalgo’s Paris. She did so much during her mayorship. The results are here.

It’s so much greener. More trees and vegetation everywhere they can.

Bikes everywhere. The buses, subway, sidewalks are all busy. So many streets have been closed to cars.

Streets are mostly quiet except during rush hour but half the traffic is just contractors in their utility vans.

Amazing transformation and rebirth of Paris.

Does SF have post-earthquake development plan?

Let’s imagine 1906 happens again and for example, Noe Valley burns down or is completely demolished to act as a firebreak.

Does the city have a plan to take over, consolidate a bunch of parcels, force higher density to be built, utilities to be revamped, transit to be expanded and more? Will the city turn a ln anticipated tragedy into an opportunity to move forward and beyong thr NYMBism of some neighborhoods?

Or are we just planning on rebuilding just like it was before?
Or worse, planning on letting private individuals and companies rebuild as they see fit?
