I'm very excited about the Affordable Housing Guarantee Act, filed this week for the November ballot in SF.

The AHGA will bring in an estimated $500m a year over the next five years for affordable housing and homelessness prevention, of which between 30% and 55% will go to social housing models.

And with no new tax! It only continues an existing tax on rich real estate investors that Mayor Lurie and Supervisors Dorsey, Mahmood, and Sauter are trying to repeal.

It's fun to be actively fighting Bilal Mahmood's legislation that would strip $500 million in voter-approved funds for affordable housing over the next five years, all to give a tax cut to the rich, and see that Garry Tan called Mahmood "too progressive."

The billionaire/VC class in SF are not reasonable people we can work with. They must be defeated.

I saw this prediction sign tonight and was shocked. There's always a 49.

We're already seeing what'll happen if we don't shore up our transit funding situation with tax revenue. You, too, will get to your stop and see no bus coming.

Like the poster says, if you're a San Francisco voter, please sign both petitions—one for a local measure to fund Muni, one for a regional one to fund BART, Caltrain, and more. We need both to keep our buses coming into the future.

"Dorsey is a sincere person. Even his most strident critics believe the SoMa supe means well."

I'm right here, Joe. I think he's a sadistic piece of shit. https://missionlocal.org/2026/04/sober-housing-matt-dorsey-matt-haney-drugs-permanent-supportive-housing/ #sfpol

Will a new state law put teeth into S.F. supe Dorsey’s plan to fund only drug-free homeless housing?

YIMBYs fear and loathe the plan, and deride it as mere ‘virtue signaling.’ But a proposed change to California law could change all that.

Monkeybrains is now advertising the parcel it stole from community gardeners as an event space under the name “Third Thursdays on Treat.”

They don’t own this land. They are squatters who used violence, threats, and lawfare to displace neighbors who were selflessly working to make Parcel 36, or the Mission Greenway, a public space. #sfpol

Me when I meet literally anyone who lives in District 6: Have you considered running for supervisor? Did you know there's still time to file? Can I cover your filing fee?

(This a-hole is running for re-election unopposed when there are parts of the district like Western SoMa that are actually quite progressive)

S.F. supe Matt Dorsey says he’d have deserved being evicted for drug-use, as his legislation now proposes

S.F. supervisor Matt Dorsey says that he feels that, had he used drugs in supportive housing, he should have been evicted to the street.

Good primer on how California housing development laws have changed in the past few years, for better or worse, but also how those changes are unlikely to usher in broad affordability.

"*This* project is all but certainly going to get financing because *this* project is exceptional. But not every project is exceptional... If merely approving a project resulted in its construction, San Francisco would have scores of thousands of additional built units. It doesn’t."

25-story Marina Safeway behemoth, inconceivable even to sci-fi futurists, looking very real

D2 supe and mayor can shake their fists at the proposed high-rise — but little more. Neither joined last week's call for a Safeway boycott.
