Happy Easter! I had a fun workshop painting eggs using my spinart robot. It worked pretty smooth. Using plastic eggs for training, then real eggs was a good idea. And after easter this machine can paint paper discs.

A group of researchers has built a computer chip in a flexible fiber thinner than an average human hair. The team from Fudan University in Shanghai says that their Fiber Integrated Circuit [FIC] design can process information like a computer, yet is durable enough to be “stretched, twisted, and woven into everyday clothing.”

Apparently I have become the type of person who has a favourite sentence in an international standards document.

The standard is ISO 13849-1, and the sentence requires that every safety-related part of the control system has at minimum the performance level required for the overall safety function.

It is my favourite sentence because it is clear and unambiguous and helps me win arguments.
