This evening I upgraded my trusty #homeassistant blue 🔵 aka oDroid N2+ with 128G USB Storage who hosted my smarhome since 2021 to a Ryzen 7 7730U with 32G RAM and 512G Storage. The migration went flawless! Big Kudos to the HA Team for making the process that easy. Haven't seen such a smooth backup & restore since years 👏

Last night I dug a bit into organic shapes in #FreeCAD 🧩

Using sketch-based extrusions feels kinda awkward if you’re used to sculpt-style modeling 😄
But honestly? Exploring the latest FreeCAD version is a lot of fun and I definitely want to create more stuff like this, because there is so much to learn 🤯

🪞Aaaaand another new model is out! 😁

I found some old mirror tiles in my basement and didn’t feel like gluing them to the wall 😅
So I designed a simple screw-on wall bracket in FreeCAD 🔩

Works great with 3 mm thick mirror tiles and it's super easy to print. You’ll need two brackets per tile, couple screws, done ✔️

It was really fun to see how a sketch turns into a real object, and how parts of that sketch can be used to extrude features along the main body.
