Migrated to #Thailand 🇹🇭 with wife & dog at the end of 2020 and living happily in Khon Kaen, a city in the eastern #Isan region of #Thailand.

@TheBard I don’t mind being shackled to their ecosystem. I like Apple’s devices, I’ve got 3 of them, and they do their job remarkably well (for me at least). They just have these stupid annoyances here and there, but overall, I’m a fairly happy customer.

@Alrescha I don’t charge my watch overnight, I sleep with it. So it has to update during the day, usually just when I need to go somewhere 😀

@dgoo2308 maybe it gets better after 10 years but then I still have a lot of sweat to go 😀

Anyway, for me the good thing is that I’m used now to feeling sticky the whole day if I’m outside. It becomes routine…

People often ask how long you need to live in #Thailand before you “acclimatise” and get used to the combination of heat and humidity of the hot season.
My answer is very simple. I’ve been living here now for 2,5 years, and I still sweat just as much as on the first day.

The difference between now and then is that now I don’t care anymore 😀

In general, I'm very happy with it. I've had other smartwatches before and in terms of functionality, the Apple Watch is way better than everything I've had before. Except for software updates, that is....

Installing a software update on an #Apple Watch is a stupid process. The watch must be on the charger. iPhone must be in range. You have to keep the watch app on the phone open during download & verification or it never ends. You have to wait for the update to be sent to the watch, then it has to be installed on the watch, both of which take ages.
But yeah, it’s from that company that values user experience over everything else, right? #Apple knows best, and we should never question that…

@busycrying @liztai well in this case they did compensate me, after saying 3 times that they were sorry that I didn't get the experience I had hoped for.

I was like: I only hoped for my food to be delivered to me as ordered. I had no great ambitions, I didn't expect a life-changing event, and I wasn't hoping for an "experience".

I was just hungry 🤣
