Installing a software update on an #Apple Watch is a stupid process. The watch must be on the charger. iPhone must be in range. You have to keep the watch app on the phone open during download & verification or it never ends. You have to wait for the update to be sent to the watch, then it has to be installed on the watch, both of which take ages.
But yeah, it’s from that company that values user experience over everything else, right? #Apple knows best, and we should never question that…
@patrick it’s just another device that shackles you to their ecosystem. I handed mine back for recycling as it died after 2 years. Repair would have cost me $500+. I swim laps most days and used the dedicated fitness tracking but guess what the #applewatch is water ‘resistant’ NOT water ‘proof’ so #apple wipe their hands of any responsibility.
@TheBard I don’t mind being shackled to their ecosystem. I like Apple’s devices, I’ve got 3 of them, and they do their job remarkably well (for me at least). They just have these stupid annoyances here and there, but overall, I’m a fairly happy customer.
@patrick agreed am happy with my MacBook Air & iPhone. The watch was my major annoyance. I'm actually quite glad I don't have it anymore. Allows me a bit of freedom from the ecosystem. 😉
