@Cormeister thanks the consensus is certainly pushing me towards apple -- lets just hope my local BBQ shop has some in stock when I'm able to get there on monday
@polymerwitch Mastodon has exposed me to new people and new spheres of society. I think this is a very good thing. But as an internet old person I'm also finding myself looking up terms like "cishet" -- as I've honestly never seen them before. Once again this is a very good thing. #NewHere #LifeLongLearner
Self care isn't always chocolate & NetFlix. Sometimes, it's getting out of bed & doing more difficult tasks like summoning a demon to help with the dishes or finding the right number of chicken bones to appease the thing that lives in the attic.

It took me all sorts of interesting places, from the domestication of wine grapes to comparative latitudes of California and Europe to an 1884 report published by the state of California's first Chief Executive Wine Officer. Let me know what you think!

@MarkXA I mean I like it here, but lets be honest with ourselves, it's web 2.9 tops. πŸ˜‰

@howelloneill When I started using mastadon regularly a few weeks ago I felt the same way about old movie twitter and #tcmParty so I started following the hashtag -- and slowly but surely I've watched the community start to come to life. Hopefully the same will happen with the NBA.
@OliviaVespera @ProPublica very much this -- I have had this account since 2018 but I rarely used it until Elon took over the bird site.
