The legendary hacker conference #HackersonPlanetEarth (HOPE) says that it has been “banned” from St. John’s University, the venue where it has held the last several HOPE conferences, because someone told the university the conference had an “anti-police agenda.”

There is no person on this planet who dwells in deeper existential dread at the idea of the world continuing on after his death than Donald J. Trump. Superlative narcissist that he is, he faces the idea of his non-existence as a Lovecraftian protagonist would stand staring at the eldritch horror that is Cthulhu.

An essential dilemma of election security research is that activists and true believers selectively cherrypick findings to make unsupportable or misleading claims.

There *are* real vulnerabilities in many US election systems, and we have to discuss them in order to identify and mitigate them. But that isn't the same as saying that any election has been hacked or rigged (something there's no evidence of).

I don't know of any way to counter cherrypicking other than just telling the whole story.
