Here's a thing about ALL THE THINGS relating to the current US-American government:

There is no person on this planet who dwells in deeper existential dread at the idea of the world continuing on after his death than Donald J. Trump. Superlative narcissist that he is, he faces the idea of his non-existence as a Lovecraftian protagonist would stand staring at the eldritch horror that is Cthulhu.

So he must grab everything he can to keep himself safe: a perpetual juvenile wrapping himself in a security blanket of wealth, prestige, instant gratification of every whim, and the power to burn down the lives of anyone he wants to.

And he hopes that after his death, that conflagration will continue. If *he* cannot be, then no one else should *be*, either.

It is altogether pathetic and pitiful -- and the worst part is that we all have to suffer because of his sorry ass.

@courtcan Revelation 12:12

Was written under time of Empire and tyranny, possibly from prison.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

@courtcan A man so self-centered, he would have the whole planet as his funerary pyre.

@courtcan we had a mock UN in my middle school, 8th grade. The incentives were not setup to take it seriously.

The teacher was a cynical old fart, who laughed hysterically as it dissolved into accusations and nuclear war. He also said in that moment that "this happens every year".

Now we have to hope that the worst president in US history is more mature and less nihilistic than an 8th grader.

@courtcan

I'm sure this is a major reason that he wants his face and name on a coin!

@courtcan

Same reason he wants the name "Trump" on everything - buildings, roads, bridges, the Kennedy Center, a ballroom, and a football stadium.

Narcissists don't believe the world CAN continue on without them because they're so central to the plot.

One of the worst things that could happen to him is to live into his 90's, watching it all get torn down.

I want him treated like Akhenaten. Erased.
