#ScienceTwitter has been a source of good for me during the last 4 (!) years of setting up a lab, #NewPI, so now I'm here
So since the pandemic began, the subway has been generally 1 person per seat, and people will stand rather than joining you in a seat. Super polite. Now that pan-fatigue is in, and subways are getting busier, that's breaking down, which. Fine. I'm still masking anyway.
But I forgot how delightful it is to read over people's shoulders on the subway. I was between someone reading an Avengers comic and someone reading a really thick novel today. It was amazing!
