Hello #GetFediHired - I'm back again.

My current contract is coming to an end at the close of June.

I don't suppose anyone knows of any orgs looking for someone with my spikey experience across business operations, cybersecurity and compliance?

I managed to get a software company that had no hope of getting through CE+ previously, through CE+ at the start of the year. And I'm trained as an ISO 27001:2022 internal auditor.

Open to roles in #Cornwall, or remote in the UK.

Thanks for sharing.

@piglet I've used it to draft workplace communications (neurodivergrnt issues) and to help with coding. It quite often gets the code wrong. If I use it for data analysis or to summarise a policy or legislation I'm triple checking the results. So it's not really been that helpful and doesn't save time.

hey! do you know things? do you wanna learn things? (i hope the answer to both those things is yes)

the other day, I offered on here that i would be happy to teach folks some basic web and terminal stuff. other people picked up the idea, also saying they'd be happy to teach!

so, because i have too much free time and not enough enrichment in my enclosure, it's a simple website now.

introducing fediLearns: https://fedilearns.fyi (edited name and domain)

want to be involved? send me some real basic info (fedi handle, what you want to share, title for your listing, category) and i'll put it on the site! and of course, share the site, either via this post or your own. I'm using the #fediSkillshares hashtag :)

---
edit: use #fediLearns ! turns out skillshare is an actual real company that I totally forgot about so I've adjusted a smidge. plus we have an actual domain now so I'm matching the domain :)

@bodhipaksa 100 years was a bit of a struggle for me too. Most of the time I can recognise the talent even if I don't like the book/style but I was baffled by the accolades given to Wolf Hall. On the other hand, I'm no expert 🤷🏻‍♀️

Can't believe The Guardian has ranked Wolf Hall ahead of Great Expectations! I found Wolf Hall painful to read and wouldn't have it on the list at all. 0/10 would not recommend.

Thoughts and prayers to non football fans in Glasgow tonight. Let's hope the damage is minimal.

According to my Storygraph tracker, I last completed a book in September 2025. Sad times 😕

Queued for an hour and half at a Spanish airport to get to an EES machine, and was then sent to another queue for the egate. Both machines scanned my passport and immediately moved me on.

I don't understand the need for two different passport scans.

A lot of frustration from both staff and passengers. The experience definitely makes me think twice about travelling here again😕

@timtfj I think it's unfair to expect non Welsh speakers to match Welsh pronunciation. I spent the day listening to Scottish journos attempt Na H-Eileanan an Iar. Which isn't the most difficult, to be fair, but when you're not a Gaelic speaker it can be intimidating. They gave it a good bash, some mangled it, but more importantly we understood what they were communicating.

As long as they're not deliberately mocking, nor being deliberately incompetent, it's enough that I understand them.
