A beautiful encounter during a recent photo tour on Vancouver Island.

It's a photo that I had imagined for years: an owl on a mossy branch.

This painting, located in the northern city of Roubaix, France is titled “The Statue of Liberty’s Silent Protest.” By Dutch artist Judith de Leeuw 😢

Our #moss is looking pretty nice. Now I forget whether this one was the Irish or Scotch moss, as we got both, but it's a nice delicate little clump of green.

An welche Farbe denkt Ihr, wenn Ihr an leckere reife schmackhafte Kirschen denkt?

@CatherineBabault Préservons notre superbe nature sauvage !
@CatherineBabault Don't owls come out at night?
@WaveChaser I photograph them in the morning.
@WaveChaser @CatherineBabault they are easier to find at night but if you know where to look you can find them during the day. They reuse the same roost trees so if you find lots of bird poo on the ground, look up.

@adamantichrist @WaveChaser If you live in a region like mine where the forest floor is covered by thick bushes, tall plants, and logs, it's hard to see owls dejections at the feet of trees. You have to learn about the animal calls, routines, their food source, life cycle, etc. That's how I locate them. Go out early in the morning when the sun is out and owls are still active.

You can see on my photo a patch of moss missing on the branch and close to the tree trunk. That's an owl perch.

@CatherineBabault
That is certainly a superb owl

It's expression to me looks like, "do you mind?" 😅

@DelilahTech And you are correct in your assumption. 😁
