So much of what the #lobular research and advocacy community will accomplish in 2023 and beyond is because we can stand on Leigh's shoulders.

“At the start of 2023 I want to celebrate, & commit to continuing, the exceptional work of Leigh Pate @LPseattle who sadly died in 2022. Leigh provided invaluable mentoring in setting up @LobularBCUK & with @oesterreichs transformed global research into #lobular #BreastCancer”

Hello #sciencemastodon. I’m the Executive Editor of @J_Cell_Sci. I’m relatively new to the position (having been an Editor at @Dev_journal for years) so I’m here to find out about all things #cellbio (and maybe some #devbio 😊). Any suggestions on who or what to follow?

An #introduction while I dip my toe in the Mastodon waters...

I'm a cancer researcher in Colorado and principal investigator for the Sikora Lab (sikoralab.com). We study #estrogenreceptor biology, focusing on ER in #lobular #breastcancer and gynecologic cancers. My PhD is in #pharmacology, which fuels an interest in anti-estrogen therapeutics. I also co-lead a #nuclearreceptors collaborative group, NR IMPACT (nrimpact.com).

I run on caffeine and snark.
