I'm on a Blues Brothers mission-from-god to improve data services based in Wales.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4YrCFz0Kfc

I have developed IT systems for global multinationals - mostly networks and communications but also apps and web systems.

I left my last proper job as an Enterprise architect for France Telecom a few years ago to return to Wales, and have set up a company developing apps and web systems for business.

After 3 weeks, I have more than 2,000 supporters. An amazing start but let's keep it going Wales. If I can get 10,000, Lego will consider turning it into a set. Please support at bit.ly/3IMWPY2 (link also in bio) and share to spread the word.

🏉Enjoyable weekend commentating on Ospreys and watching Cardiff, two of four Welsh wins. Ospreys win was against seriously strong opposition. All Welsh teams set to see some form of last 16 action in April- wonder if the finances will be sorted by then 🧐

#TombTuesday I offer a monument to a monument where burials have been found!

This stone marks the area where the bluestones of Stonehenge were taken from the Preseli Mountains in #Pembrokeshire, #Cymru

Back to work today. Last week I posted a few digs at political parties (hope I didn't annoy anyone too much).

Host in Wales is my 'mission from god', and I'm in a much better position to pursue it this year than in previous years.

Politicians are fair game!

First job though is to tidy the lab. It's a mess in there. Got to make room for new servers.

Bore da, Bawb! Who would like a Welsh practice session during morning coffee break? At work or at home! I'll run one on Zoom once a week, and you can pop in for 5 minutes / an hour according to your break. Favourite and boost if you're interested!

I'll run a poll to find the best times / days, and it'll be open to all levels, even if you just want to sit in the background and listen.

Any questions?

Plaid Cymru
Plaid Cymru use Nation Builder. They do have other options, and I have discussed this with Plaid politicians including Adam Price, but Plaid’s operational team flatly refuse even to consider other options and Adam seems happy to condone this behaviour.

For Plaid to use a foreign supplier while refusing to consider home grown options does rather look like hypocrisy,

I know there are Plaid people on this forum - perhaps they might like to comment?

Dwi'n cefnogi Plaid Cymru! Ydych chi?

Plaid Cymru

Reform UK (formally the Brexit party)
Reform UK’s website is hosted in USA because of course it is.

Like the Lib Dems, Reform UK use Nation Builder, so the same questions about data protection must arise. Why are the Lib Dems and the Reform UK party hosting all the canvassing data with a US company?

No contribution to the Welsh economy here or indeed the UK economy.

Reform UK

Reform UK national political party offering common sense policies on immigration, the cost of living, energy & national sovereignty. Accountability for those holding public office. If you want Reform, vote Reform UK

Reform UK

Welsh Liberal Democrats.
Welsh Lib-dems use a system called Nation Builder - an American company, and hence is hosted in the USA. This raises significant questions about data protection, and also how much data the lib dems end up sharing with other political parties. (more on that to come)

No contribution to the Welsh economy here; and a questionable solution for many reasons.

Welsh Labour
The Welsh Labour website is hosted in London. There doesn’t seem to be any desire amongst Labour politicians to seek to host in Wales. I discussed this once with Rebecca Evans AM who understood the issue, but its in the hands of backroom boys who don’t seem to see the political side,

No contribution to the Welsh economy here. Could do better!
