SHUTDOWN NOTICE: I'm planning on decommissioning the dataplatform.social server on March 31.

The server currently has less than 30 active users (with activity in the last month) and even though I've cost-optimized the operation, it still comes down to a relatively large amount of money per account.

Add to that the work of staying on top of patches, and it's just not worth the effort for me.

The good news is: there's a simple, straight-forward way to migrate your account to a new server:

@dhmacher @DaveMasonDotMe Agreed on all of that. I was really hoping that everybody in #sqlfamily would congregate here instead of the other we-won’t-go-fascist-yet site. But thank you for giving us a place to congregate here in the interim. Now to find a new home, Federation-wise. We definitely appreciate you, and if I come across you want a SQLSat/DataSat/etc, I owe you a beer at the least!

So...
Russia put a hit on the leader of the Russian Volunteer Corps, which works for Ukraine to resist Putin.

So, Ukraine somehow put out evidence of them completing the hit, and intercepted/diverted/collected half a million dollars, after using the global media to spread the story... And then Budanov held an event, where they miraculously resurrected the commander!

"Welcome back to life!"

Russian milbloggers not amused.

This is why we need mandatory, government funded, independent IT accident investigation boards!

This kind of investigation needs to happen *every* *time* IT endangers life, limb or liberty, so that we all can learn from the mistakes and avoid them happening again.

@JenMsft Blue Prince is incredible. 200 hours in and nearing the end. Just need to crack the puzzle that still water brought me to.

So back in 1944, a German U-Boat Commander named Heinz-Wilhelm Eck did exactly what US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth ordered US military forces to do - kill the survivors of a destroyed boat at sea.

Now, as then, this is considered a War Crime.

In 1945, Commander Eck was tried, found guilty with his own logs condemning him and executed by firing squad by the Allies.

USA, this is where you are now.

Doing literal war crimes every nation condemned the Nazis for.
