Now that more of y'all are here this Mastodon thing is pretty dope.

Over the years I've learned that most assumptions about someone else's infrastructure needs tend to be wrong. Context matters.

Cloud has its own limitations and the best way to help customers is by finding the right balance between their architecture and ours.

I'll be streaming my exploration into #dotnet #minimalAPIs this Thursday at 2pm GMT.

Here's a comment for incoming Twitter users: I've found that some are really put off by the way Mastodon requires push and pull to get to information. Rather than Elmo telling you what to read (and steering you to most incendiary content), you have to go look for it and choose to consume it. Most notably, I've come to think of "Content Warnings" as instead subject lines, just like you'd use in an email, so readers can scan whether they want to read further.

Did you know you can inject languages into string literals with a comment in #JetBrainsRider? It will enable basic syntax highlighting and *some* code completion in the string literal. Additionally it will give you warnings if the string literal is not valid in the chosen language.

In .NET 7 you will also be able to use the StringSyntaxAttribute https://learn.microsoft.com/dotnet/api/system.diagnostics.codeanalysis.stringsyntaxattribute which also works in #VisualStudio. But attributes can't be used everywhere (e.g. for local variables).

#dotnet @dotnet

StringSyntaxAttribute Class (System.Diagnostics.CodeAnalysis)

Specifies the syntax used in a string.

About a year ago, I felt like Twitter had lots of interesting projects being discussed, while Mastodon was dominated by the conversation songs the platform itself.

Today I learned about the #artemis launch and some other indie projects on Mastodon, while Twitter is dominated by the new ownership. Swings and roundabouts 😄🏌️‍♂️🎠

@mucio @phillipmai LOL you do know that I write the content warning, right? There's no algo here
