In 2000, a Resident Evil game for Game Boy Color was in development and planned for release, but was scrapped by Capcom. Now, it's been collected and is available, and by developers' guesses, is probably about 98% complete:

The weird irony is that The Internet has this way of lulling you into a false sense of permanence.
It's always just "other people's computers." Those computers might be fancier, and there's lots of them, and there's a lot of people out there trying to keep the copies going...but even the giants have failures.
And the companies that seem like they'll never go away can be completely irrelevant within a few years.
