In 2000, a Resident Evil game for Game Boy Color was in development and planned for release, but was scrapped by Capcom. Now, it's been collected and is available, and by developers' guesses, is probably about 98% complete:

New blog post: "The roles I inhabit"

I had a quick chat with @jefklak yesterday evening, which hit pretty close to home. I woke up this morning remembering one technique I heard (or read) somewhere and decided to write down all the roles I could think of that I try to fit in / fill out.

I'm sure the list is far from complete. đŸ«

It really cannot be overstated how frictionless it feels to use Mastodon. I don't think I've ever been able to open the Reddit app on my phone without being distracted by at least one extra thing. Here, it's just, zip in, check up on everything I want and nothing more, zip out.

The weird irony is that The Internet has this way of lulling you into a false sense of permanence.

It's always just "other people's computers." Those computers might be fancier, and there's lots of them, and there's a lot of people out there trying to keep the copies going...but even the giants have failures.

And the companies that seem like they'll never go away can be completely irrelevant within a few years.

If I've learned one thing from being online for the past five years or so, it's this: if you see anything you like on the internet—and I mean ANYTHING—you need to find a way to make a local backup of it, and then make a backup of that backup
