I was out of town all last week; didn’t get a chance to work on the sermon. Got to the office at 7:15, opened up, and banged out a sermon on #prayer (today Jesus give the Lord’s Prayer).
One of m parishioners said it was the most thoughtful and meaningful sermon I’ve given since being here. So …. 🤷‍♂️

Today’s sermon was on the parable of the rich man who built bigger barns for his unexpected windfall — #Luke12:13-21
I said multiple times that we are mandated to help those in need (Deut. 10:19, 14:29, 24:17, 24:19-21), that Sodom & Gomorrah were destroyed for not helping those in need, and to give generously to those in need (2 Cor. 9:6-7).
I also pointed out that not doing so was both anti-scriptural and anti-Christ.
I noticed on of my republican parishioners furiously scribbling notes on his bulletin.
Wondering how long before he wants to talk to me about his “concerns.”
