Trying to schedule a Communion visit with a daughter for her mother who has memory issues:
D: I’m busy this week, how about Monday?
Me: Nope, that’s a mandatory post-Easter day off.
D: Ok, I’m open any other day that week.
Me: Wednesday?
D: Busy….Friday?
Me: I’m off, but I can make 1:00 work.
D: Nope, busy
So much for being open any other day.
It’s #PalmSunday and the first service is in the books. I’m also completely exhausted as I’m dealing with the aftermath of a nasty cold.
As I’m stumbling through the services, trying to stay upright, trying to keep it together, I’m thinking, “Man, I really hope Jesus wasn’t sick as he went through #HolyWeek
Every Lent #SLECBuffalo gathers with the UMC, UCC, and ELCA congregations for a Wednesday night soup supper and worship.
Today is the last one of the series. Hopefully we’ll have a full house as we eat, converse, and then worship with #EveningPrayer on this #FeastOfTheAnnunciation
It’s the #FifthSundayInLent today. Today we enter with the #GreatLitany and the sermon is about binding and being unbound.
I really should have something more profound, but that’s as good as it gets today.
On the plus side, I get to pray that we “beat down Satan under our feet.”
Our food pantry operations manager called me this morning and said she received a credible threat from a patron who had just been suspended for abusive behavior.
Legally there’s nothing we can do, but I called the PD to have an officer meet with us about the situation. I’d much rather do this sooner rather than after an attack.
Things I missed in seminary.
