I’m on a delayed #BarWeek because of vacation last week. Hanging out at the diviest of the bars last night and talking with a patron, another over-served patron hollers at me from the end of the bar, “How much do I need to pay to be a good Christian??”

I said, “Nothing …. That’s not how it works.”

The vacation had a less than stellar beginning, but it turned out to be a good time. Visits with a variety of friends, a trip to the #DCZoo, good food, and we had time to see #ProjectHailMary (which was excellent, btw).
But, as is apparently tradition for every parish I’ve served, one parishioner died while I was away. And it wasn’t the one I was expecting. So dealing with that is Item Number One on my to do list today.

On #GoodFriday we got a pretty good snowstorm that shut everything down. Today is sunny and cold, but it seems like everyone who couldn’t get to the #FoodPantry last week is showing up today. Can’t say as I blame them.

#EasterVigil is in the books. Had a decent turnout, we didn’t burn the building down, and the church smells like incense.
It’s the best service of the year.
Breakfast between services was great, and now the down time until the next service starts.

Trying to schedule a Communion visit with a daughter for her mother who has memory issues:
D: I’m busy this week, how about Monday?
Me: Nope, that’s a mandatory post-Easter day off.
D: Ok, I’m open any other day that week.
Me: Wednesday?
D: Busy….Friday?
Me: I’m off, but I can make 1:00 work.
D: Nope, busy

So much for being open any other day.

With the help of my daughter and FaceTime, the Altar Guild folded palm crosses for #PalmSunday services tomorrow.
Now if I can just get over the crud, I’ll be in good shape.

Back from Billings. I just reread my post and realized it’s a 5 hour round trip: 2-1/2 up, 2-1/2 back.
Anyway …. The baby’s check up was fine and he doesn’t need to go back. That’s good news.
On the way back, my cruise control quit and dashboard lights lit up the panel. That’s bad news.
Called the dealer. It’s an easy fix AND no charge because some manufacturer thing. That’s good news.
So I’m making a trip to Casper on Easter Monday to have it repaired. Just how I planned on spending my day off. 🤷‍♂️

The local hospital has a low-income patient who needs to get their infant son to an appointment in Billings. Transportation being …. difficult ….. in this part of the country, I offered to take them up.
I’ll be picking them up at 6:45 am Tuesday morning for a 2-1/2 hr round trip + doctor appointment. I’m guessing (hoping) I’ll be home by 2:00.

Our food pantry operations manager called me this morning and said she received a credible threat from a patron who had just been suspended for abusive behavior.

Legally there’s nothing we can do, but I called the PD to have an officer meet with us about the situation. I’d much rather do this sooner rather than after an attack.
