When committing bash crimes..:

(Give the person reading your script a fighting chance at being able to search the manual for exactly how the heck the cryptic header incantations are influencing shell behaviour in crucial and subtle ways. Greybeards will already know, but it may give a new learner just a bit more of a chance to learn the old magic more easily. Help maintain the front door as well as the foundations and plumbing.)

Finally a clean way to rapidly re-start everything other than the #Linux kernel… for me, it is extremely useful to be able to do that after applying desktop & graphics stack updates, and to be able to log back in within 10 seconds.

Throwing the idea out here: it would be very nice if someone figured out a way to write a #GNOMEShell extension to provide "Soft reboot" as an alternative to cold reboot!

In retrospect, we should have figured out that Jia Tan was a plant from the fact that they showed up to do releases. In 20+ years of contributions to FLOSS projects I haven't found anybody willing to do the same.
