Today a systems analyst came to me asking for a UX review for an app. I was prepared to go through my checklist, focusing on #accessibility first.
I was starting to run some automated tests when they opened up an accessibility plugin in their browser. They had been checking it since they started working on the interface with the developer.
They were asking me questions about how to do more, how to run manual tests, how to fix issues.
This is awesome progress being made.

Anyone else find looking for #jobs to be a soulless and disappointing experience? So much is about titles and long bloated job descriptions. The #hiring process especially in tech is so broken. Really no way around having to optimize your resume for AI scans, applying for a hundred positions to get one or two calls. It's demoralizing.
Why do humans do this to other humans?
FlorianAn interesting byproduct of working in #accessibility while having a #disability yourself, I find, be it in gaming, software, events, even buildings, is that you constantly lament the failures you weren't able to prevent. Outside of actually needing to eat, I do genuinely enjoy helping people make stuff more #accessible. I do. I like the challenges in how to make very visual media, like #videoGames, accessible. I just rarely actually get asked, I can't be everywhere at once, and often when I do get asked, I get asked way too late, at which point the challenges are too daunting for the asker to actually take up. It's basically "the one that got away" times a thousand, and I would not be surprised if its a huge contributor to #burnout in this industry
