I'm trying to cut back on time how much time I spent sending product/service feedback, but I just can't help it when a message from a company like Canadian Tire, who is big enough to know better, sends an email where the entire message is just "Hey Charles," and a bunch of images with no alt text.
(Also my computer is busy installing updates right now so I can'tbe productive anyway lol)

Great resource! Thank you Laura!
I pre-ordered the Clicks Power Keyboard* a few days ago, and got an email today whose content was entirely in images with no alt text. I sent a polite note about the importance of, benefits of, and legal requirements for, including alt text.
Their reply, <1 hour later, is a masterclass in how to handle such requests.

Comrades: I can't read your aesthetic posts with poor contrast and small font!
Example account about accessible posts:
https://www.instagram.com/angiecibisdesign/
How to improve?
-Contrast beige background and black text or dark background (preferably not black but generally dark) and beige text.
-Use round fonts (examples of free fonts: Roboto, DM Sans, Open Sans, Lato, etc.).
-If aesthetics are important to you, my personal recommendation: make the first photo aesthetically pleasing, but with good lettering, and use a beige background with black text for the rest.
-Alternative text: For blind or partially sighted people, this is what the phone "reads" to explain what appears in the photo. It's important to be able to do it while understanding the limitations imposed by censorship and the tools we have.
In my case, for posts about the Philippines and Palestine, I can't add alternative text because I'd get banned, but I do for the rest. Alternative text is very difficult to add on a phone; in my case, I use a computer. I've read people calling people who don't include alt text "lazy," not understanding that Instagram itself hides the alt text option and that not everyone has access to a computer.
I'd love to help with the process of making posts accessible. I can change the canvas, walk you through tools, and more!
Please contact me. I'm not just interested in pointing out mistakes, but in being able to work together to find solutions!

At first i wanted to make the design a bit more like those perpetual wind motion machines but I didn't want to wreck my wrists, so only two pairs of legs LMAO

A question for users of screen readers: Do you prefer to have dimensions in text as:
"NUMBERxNUMBER" (note the "x")
or
"NUMBER by NUMBER"?
I'm working on a blog post that has many occurrences of that structure, and I don't want to make it hard for people that use screen readers.
Thanks, and please boost for reach.
