@nixCraft not really bloat but I’ve had to stop using several apps that required online activation but the company folded or took the activation servers offline, making genuine, paid-for software unusable on a new system.

@emily thanks for sharing that. I’m all for rediculous unnecessary precision. I currently use a raspberry pi with gps (pps) with DCF77 as a secondary source. Will look into this.

@thomholwerda I can relate to that. I have several (among which an HP 9000/712 running 10.20). Probably the worst thing with HP is de site-locked development licenses. I have gcc for my 712, but you can't compile much outside some command line tools. HP didn't ship all header files as standard, so anything that uses X is impossible to compile. I understand there should be 'unlocked' versions. What would it cost HP to just release those after all these years.
