Which of your beloved software (or app) became bloat regardless of OS/device, and have you stopped using it?
@nixCraft gdevelop but it was cause their discord server. also gamejolt with similar reasons + useless chat options. maybe also windows but it was ages ago, so...
@nixCraft es file explorer on Android used to be highly capable and did not carry ads. it is unusable now.
@nixCraft not really bloat but I’ve had to stop using several apps that required online activation but the company folded or took the activation servers offline, making genuine, paid-for software unusable on a new system.

@nixCraft Google Chrome. I have to admit I kind of hate it now.
@nixCraft #Brave browser has added in so much bloat and useless "features" it might as well be called a top heavy walled-in suite of bloated trash masquerading as a browser: BAT crypto, Brave wallet, Brave rewards, Brave ad engine, Brave VPN, Brave firewall, etc.
@nixCraft Eclipse IDE. Despite chewing up all resources, it ran slower.
@nixCraft Foxit PDF Reader stopped using it mostly use the browser now.

@nixCraft On the verge of giving up on Firefox. KDE after they dropped version 3, and KDE4 went full-on Mickey$oft central services.
