I logged into Twitter to see what conversation was happening over there, and my timeline is fairly consistently developers complaining that someone called them out on something they are doing that has ethical implications.

Everything we do has ethical implications.

You either rationalise them within the bounds of your understanding and be okay with whatever the impact of your actions might be, or engage in cognitive dissonance.

I'm thinking of getting a home battery + inverter + ev charger, which I'm hoping will work together in some kind of "smart" manner.

I'm dubious of vendor lock in and closed ecosystems. Are there any open open standards for control that I should make sure my system comes with?
