I logged into Twitter to see what conversation was happening over there, and my timeline is fairly consistently developers complaining that someone called them out on something they are doing that has ethical implications.

Everything we do has ethical implications.

You either rationalise them within the bounds of your understanding and be okay with whatever the impact of your actions might be, or engage in cognitive dissonance.

I’m not surprised those developers are on twitter still.

@jonhendry I'm curious about why they're still on there. It could be they don't think there's anything wrong with Musk's actions over the last few years. Or that they get something from Twitter that they don't get here, Bluesky, LinkedIn, etc (successful self promotion? an audience that shares their values?).

I'd love to know more, but I find the conversation over there tiring and juvenile, and have made my choice not to add my voice to that platform because of my own values.
