When I first migrated to Mastodon I decided it would be a good opportunity to try running multiple accounts on different servers, with each account concentrating on a different set of my interests.

So for example this account was set up on oldbytes.space so that I had somewhere to engage with other people who also liked retro computer hardware and playing with Arduinos.

However six months on it's become clear to me that maintaining an active presence on multiple accounts requires too much effort. I hardly ever post using this account any more, so in 4 weeks time I will be closing this account and migrating my follows over to my primary account @losttourist

The most stand-out experience of my entire infosec career is still hands down the time I went to a science fiction convention and stumbled drunkenly into a hotel room party where Bruce Schneier was playing folk music and handing out beer. I was in a Star Trek costume. #ShitICouldntTweet

Oh dear. Today is not a good day to be a #Microsoft cloud engineer. Or to be reliant on #Azure services.

History in pics: Testing prototype Roomba's in 1982. It would take two decades until they could be made small enough to clean under a couch.
Had a visit to the Centre for Computing History in #cambridge and I was sucked into this time machine. Amazing museum!
I ran @p_malin's program and got this.

I have a project on the go that will eventually need a custom enclosure made for it. I have absolutely zero experience of 3D printing software. If I'm going to need to create files that I can send off to a 3D-printing company, what's the best software for a complete novice to use?

If I, being in north Nottinghamshire NG21 UK, needed someone to solder this 1k resistor between the right most pads of C4 and Q1 (i.e. just above R42 where the right leg of that black component is and the other above R13) which is a 5mm gap... Who/where should I ask?

My eyesight and soldering experience isn't up to it anymore.

After the demise of Odin Computer Graphics in 1987, I did some work for Telecomsoft AKA Firebird in the form of the original game Crosswize for the ZX Speccy. It was probably the most accomplished Speccy game I created, would the blood, sweat & tears pay off? Colin Grunes and I set off to find out!
