How The Buerocracy Took Power
"We republish the first part of a pamphlet (first released in 1987, during the twilight of the Soviet regime), which serves as an invaluable introduction to the events from the October Revolution to the rise of Stalinism in Russia ‒ from which innumerable lessons can be drawn for the class struggle today."

“Our relationship has never been worse than it is now. However, that changed as of about four hours ago. I really believe that.” The judgement of President Donald J. Trump delivered from the heights of Helsinki followed hard on the heels of his first summit meeting with President Vladimir V. Putin. If anything, it was even more bizarre than his visits to the NATO summit and the United Kingdom a few days ago. And it made even bigger waves.

"As Polonius noted in Hamlet, “Though this be madness, yet there is method in it.” Or rather, there is a material basis driving the dizzying convergence of attacks on the working class. USA: Trump’s madness and the fight for independent, working-class politics
Calling to mind the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, US President Donald Trump tweets no fewer than six impossible things before breakfast. But what we are living through is not impossible, and it is not a dream. This is the living reality of capitalism a century after it became an absolute fetter on human progress. Trump is merely the personification of this chaos and instability.
"Only a real alternative to the crisis of #capitalism can offer any hope for #British #workers and youth. As the government faced a showdown with its own party, the #labour movement should prepare for a fight of its own: the fight to hurl the #Tories out of power, put #Corbyn in No. 10 and take the #economy out of the hands of the bosses and speculators who profit daily from our suffering.
Down with the crisis-ridden Tories! For a #socialist Labour government!"

"In truth their apparent paralysis reflects the agonising impasse that grips the Tory Party today. Trapped between the hardline Tory rank-and-file and the ruling class, in whose interests they must govern, leading Brexiteers now face their own dilemma."
