Exactly. AI discourse is polarized - often either overrated or underrated.
Still early days, worth learning what works where.
For me it's an enabler, not a revolution.
My current workflow when building features:
1. Write architecture (find the right approach)
2. Break down into small tickets
3. Build a simple test page
4. Code ticket by ticket, verify each step
5. Build tests
Small, verified iterations. I don't use agents that code for hours - too hard to steer, you end up debugging.
Started off with no test suite. Now adding tests early.
Different knowledge profile, different cost equation:
I understand systems but my implementation skills atrophied. AI bridges that gap - built 80k LOC app over the last ten months.
My bottleneck was execution, not requirements.
Beautiful code? Nope. But it works.

I keep hearing #AI boosters / talking heads claiming that #LLMs have transformed software development, "it's not just about prototyping - AI is writing solid production code", etc.
So here's a challenge:
Share some AI-derived pull requests that deal with non-obvious corner cases or non-trivial bugs from mature #opensource projects. I'll also accept high-quality documentation that isn't just the sort of wasted space & slop that I always tell juniors not to write.
