Commercial users who pay at least 25K/year to OpenSSL already, complain that we don't feed their business for free as we no longer support OpenSSL v1 in the vanilla curl release.

OpenSSL v1 is not available (updated) anymore without paying for it. Why would we serve obviously strictly commercial interests without getting paid?

So, up-to-date curl with support for OpenSSL v1 is only available for paying customers. You can become one right now!

@FOSSBackstage Amazon ist weniger als Unterstützer von #opensource denn als Trittbrettfahrer von FLOSS bekannt, z.B. durch ihre Aneignung von #mysql und #postgresql im Rahmen ihres proprietären Database as a Service-Angebots Aurora. Ich finde #amazon als Sponsor daher problematisch. Diese Wahl widerspricht für mich persönlich dem Anspruch auf #digitalesouveraenitaet , der nicht wenige Entwickler und Anwender von Open Source heutzutage antreibt.

Too wound up to go to bed, so I just sent lots of emails to people hoping that they'll spread the word and get lots more people to write comments to the FCC telling them that orbital data centres and sunlight-as-a-service are incredibly stupid, dangerous ideas and should never be launched.

I don't think it'll actually make a big difference. But I do think it's incredibly important that the official record shows how many opposed this.
