Popular solutions to the climate emergency:
1. Degrow the economy. Trim excesses and increase production of necessities. Most people's lives actually improve.
2. Degrow the population. The poorest lives are sacrificed so the richest needn't suffer a reduction in quality of life from "exorbitant" to merely "high". Doesn't actually solve the problem.
3. Wait for the market to inspire miraculous technological innovations that just fix everything (secretly option 2).
