Demonstrators gather in Berlin to protest Germany’s decision not to provide Leopard tanks to Ukraine The protestors gathered in front of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s office on Jan. 20 for the "Free the Leopards" protest, organized by Vitsche, an association of Ukrainians living in Germany. Germany’s new Defense Minister, Boris Pistorius, told reporters on Jan. 20 at the Ramstein meeting that a decision had not yet been made on whether or not Germany would transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. Ukraine has been asking for the German tanks to repel Russian forces from occupied territories as the tanks are superior to the Soviet-style tanks used by both sides in the war. Photos: Alina And
