I commend you for your focus on local politics. More than anywhere, that is where the Other Team is kicking our ass. This gives them a crazy deep bench, and often gives niche Xtian issues altogether too much focus. I'm hoping against hope that the next big folderol is a concerted campaign against figs. That's right, you lot - Jesus hates FIGS, not the other thing. Read a Bible sometime, sheesh.

Whenever anyone even remotely progressive says they want to be more active politically, I urge them to run for school board, or work on the campaign of the most progressive school board candidate they can find.

The current trend of privatizing public education with charter schools, etc. has only one possible end result: defacto separate and unequal education. Every year, my local school district gets a little bit more like 80s Baltimore, where anyone with any money at all went to parochial school, and everyone else lived out Season 4 of The Wire.

@Mrfunkedude I tried to resist. I didn't want to be rude, or whatever poetry's version of a grammar nazi is (meter maid?) but I can't help it. Lines two and three just don't scan. I can't figure out a way to make them work as written. Could I offer two alternate lines?

The best way I could think to keep "Defederated instances" was to sneak a "For" before the line, counting "For de" as one syllable. It works, somewhat. The only other way I could think to fix it was to make "Defederated instances?" a question, but that doesn't fit with the structure of the original. It's fine to mess with the classics a bit (just ask Kristy McNichol) but the closer you can keep to source, the better.

Again, apologies for butting in, but the ghosts of Gilbert, Sullivan, and campy 80s parodies made me.

@BestGirlGrace I can't start in on website boys yet. I'm still stuck on velociraptors and slimegirls. Which isn't to say I have absolutely none, I'm just not officially hoarding them yet. I have 29 kinds of slimegirls now, so I'm close on that one, I think.
