@adarsh What's weird about that is that my house is my most valuable asset, and I don't make any money on it until I sell it, but every year I have to give 2.2% of its value to the city of Baltimore in the form of property taxes, which is fine, but... it sure seems like we could tax stocks based on their value.
Every group chat has one person who responds to everything with a single emoji and contributes nothing else and honestly they might be the most well-adjusted person in the thread (it's not me)
@stevendb not what I expected, but could be great. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@mistersql when I was a whippersnapper, my dad, who could be wrong, believed that the various size descriptors for computers were literally about volume, thus a microcomputer was desktop sized, a mini-computer refrigerator-sized and a supercomputer was enormous. But nobody uses words that way anymore, which is why our super cars are all hyper cars. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@RayKuntz thanks! Now if it would just stop snowing so I could ride it!

@Pionir also, I’m pretty sure it’s a US model given the local bike shop sticker. Check the options here and see if you think it matches the PGN 10:

@Pionir well, first off it’s a very dark gray metallic paint, and I don’t think it’s a respray. The only original parts are the frame, fork, maybe the seatpost and maybe maybe the BB. It looks a lot like an ‘85 501, but those weren’t lugged.

As far as I can tell, after poking around Bike Boom Peugeot catalogs, given the color, the lugs, the 501 tubes, and the bolt screwed into the seat tube holding the seat post, it’s a 1984 PGN 10. That fits the visible features and the fact that the frame number starts with 4, probably the year of the decade the frame was built.

@thechildofroth I’ve already asked the RetroGrouches in the Classic & Vintage section of Bike Forums and gotten one wrong answer. 😀 However, I think it might be a March 1984 PGN 10 based on the serial number starting with 403 and the tubing, forks, and seat tube screw matching this description:

@Birdie that’s a lovely badge! Mine is… white paint. 🤣

The brake works, just not as well as you’d like. Will replace soon!

The weather here in Baltimore just turned cold again, so my only biking will be commutes for a few days and I’m trying to decide if I can ride it as a fixie in traffic or if I should switch back to singlespeed for the time being.

@Birdie Yeah, it came as a singlespeed and I flipped the wheel around to make it a fixie.

As for the wooden grips, they're hard and not very grippy, so I'l be looking for a replacement as soon as I get new brake pads to replace the current ones which are also hard not very grippy. 😂
