Nearly 90% of educators support matching instruction to students' learning styles, but researchers are skeptical. Here’s what happens when teachers tailor their lessons to students’ individual learning styles

An analysis of several studies on learning styles suggests that students perform slightly better academically when lessons are tailored to their specific style. But it may not be worth the investment.

Why is Microsoft Teams so bad?

@SMLP

It's pretty clear when you are comparing says Civ I to the boardgame. Less so for Civ VI.

(I always feel the need to add State so people don't assume I am talking about D.C.)

@SMLP I've played this. The computer games is absolutely based on it. There's just no direct license transfer. Sid Meyer's made a video game based on the core concepts of the board game and credits it as the inspiration.

2/2 So I am looking for advice from anyone who is into e-sports or runs an e-sports programs as to where to start and how to get the kids into games that aren't their first pick.

1/2 Okay Mastodon, I'm a computer science teacher. I've been asked to run an e-sports program at my school. The problem is that I am not much of a gamer. Like, I play Elden Ring, and CIv6, maybe CK2 sometimes, so basically not what my students are into. Moreover, the kids seem to have minimal enthusiasm for some of the big e-sports games: League of Legends, Rocket League, etc.

The kids are still heavily into Fortnite and Call of Duty, but the district doesn't allow shooting games.
