Long time exist user. Part of the reason is all the work Belle has done to sync with Apple Health. I get a more complete picture of my health and an online API I can use with my custom scripts.

@gunchleoc This is the most powerful part of the feature, which they didn't even mention. Most of the people I know would not want to remember which server they're on.

Sticking with #macos sequoia as long as I can. I hear you can't even resize windows easily.

Have you ever helped people use their computers by talking to them over the phone, without seeing their screen? It can be frustrating if they tell you mostly irrelevant details that bury the important stuff.

This is the major problem with image description by AI. AI has no idea why the image was posted, so it gives irrelevant details.

Human-written image descriptions are much better at communicating an image's purpose.

Good breakdown of #apple's declining #ux in #ios26 from Nielsen Norman Group. Curious if reducing transparency helps with some of the contrast issues.

"Overall, Apple is prioritizing spectacle over usability, lending credibility to the theory that Liquid Glass is an attempt to distract customers from iOS 26’s lack of long-promised AI features."

"Apple may call it Liquid Glass. To many users, it feels more like a fogged‑up window"

Liquid Glass Is Cracked, and Usability Suffers in iOS 26

iOS 26’s visual language obscures content instead of letting it take the spotlight. New (but not always better) design patterns replace established conventions.

🤯 Instagram is testing new iOS push notifications that include a profile photo. Each time the notification is shown on your screen, it triggers a GET request to fetch that image, letting Meta track every on-screen impression.

The app still misuses push notifications to send detailed device analytics about the device (uptime, battery, volume, locale, timezone, memory, CPU, etc.)
