I miss when #WWDC was just Steve Jobs showing off a new front bezel for the PowerMac G4 and bragging about the UNIX core of OS X.

(while I'm glad others on my feed seem to feel the same, I might be muting that hashtag shortly)

OMB is seeking to rewrite the rules around how scientific research is funded in the United States and more formally implement some of the terrible executive orders that have come out over the last year and a half.

Among other things, the new rules would give political appointees veto power over federal grants including the ability to ignore peer review and to terminate grants already in progress for unspecified reasons. Also would prohibit publication fees, international collaboration, or public outreach.
