Neil GaimanI just presented Art Spiegelman with the National Book Award Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, on the same day that PENAmerica put out a letter signed by Art and Margaret Atwood and me, among others, protesting the latest round of book bannings.

There is far too much of an assumption of responsibility for the consumer, as opposed to company’s acknowledging that they are responsible for the waste they produce. Yes, production is driven by demand in many cases. But company’s need to take responsibility for their actions and the consequences for the planet #sustainable #sustainability #climatechange #responsibility
I would urge all companies to be more ambitious with their sustainability targets; @CocaCola states on their website they have “an ambition to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050”. Whilst this would be a great step forward, it is not nearly fast enough from one of the largest emitters in the world #sustainability #climate #climatechange #netzero #carbonemissions #cocacola #corporations
