I've flirted with the extinct elephant but didn't make the jump until the bird attacks started. #canberra #IT #cybersecurity #bikes #riding #gym
@VeryBadLlama nurse pillbot will probably be the nicest one.
@EndGameWW3 you should do whatever is best for your peace of mind. You have lots of followers of Twitter but it sounds like it's a strain on you personally. I'm off Twitter now so I'm biased.
@Inklyrion I feel like the wizard at the end of the Wizard of Oz when he's flying the balloon, "I can't come down, I don't know how it works".
@KathyReid great article!

You've probably heard of #Mastodon and the #TwitterMigration by now - but what's it got to do with #Cybernetics?

Here's a little piece I wrote for the @[email protected] School blog.

Check out the launch events at the end of Nov too! #AustralianCybernetic

What’s Mastodon and what’s it got to do with cybernetics?

If you’re a regular Twitter user, then you will have seen the recent ructions on the platform as SpaceX and Tesla founder, Elon Musk, took control of the platform in a US$44 billion acquisition. The move has sparked calls for #TwitterMigration to a platform called Mastodon. But what is Mastodon, and what’s it got to do with cybernetics?

Feels kind of like being in freshly washed clothes being on a new platform. I'm sure I am going to do the metaphorical equivalent of spilling curry sauce all over myself soon.
@gingergorman there seems to be an import function under preferences. I haven't tried it but I guess that's where you would do it.
@gingergorman I tried using debirdify (https://pruvisto.org/debirdify) but then mostly just manually added people it found. Probably not a viable way to add lots of people.
Debirdify

This is a web app that helps you find out which of the people you follow on Twitter are on Mastodon/in the Fediverse already and follow all of them easily.

Really early impression. Using Mastodon seems like a livelier version of Google+ so far.
