11 FOOT 8 – The Canopener Bridge

@MrRooni We did put in a bracket, it was a slick kind of thing that in theory you can do entirely from the bottom side — sort of like a towel bar with a hexagonal shaft, and you put it up through the hole, then go perpendicular, then rotate the shaft to expand like a curtain rod between the joists. Then a bracket with screws comes down to hold the box. But I needed to run a ground wire anyway so did it all from the top.

No changes on the wiring, it's already a three-way. Just use the chains.

Also, for once, the first time I’ve seen a UX improvement to fan dingle-dangle chains: plastic fobs with imagery of a fan or a light bulb.

I can get them straight if I stop and think about it, but I shouldn’t have to. This is better.

Another 90% attic / 10% “the rest” job — adding a room ceiling fan. Done!
@notjosh Neat. Still free plan?
@MrRooni Yeesh. This was a tough trip to pack for. So far in a week I’ve used shorts, flannel-lined jeans, a sun hat, and an ice scraper.
Range between 19F and 78F in the same half-week? Ok.
@chockenberry @dwineman Share sheet is number 2 in line of worst offenders as a iOS junk drawer to me, right after Settings.app.
@mpospese Indeed! Usually I make it with regular ginger snaps but this time I got some great gluten-free ones. Otherwise just butter in the crust.
@danwood I was just introduced to a pair of “duck bill” pliers which belonged to my grandfather.
